The making of this large vase was a real meditation — slowly built by hand using dark stoneware clay, carved, burnished, carefully glazed and high fired in an electric kiln. The soft satin shine of the unglazed outside surface creates a lovely contrast with the shiny glazed inside that plays with the light. It is a real centerpiece on its own or with flowers as well.
Comes with a free kenzan: a small Japanese tool for ikebana flower arrangement that fits neatly inside the base of the vase.
